Dear Embodied Hearts and Dancing Souls,
My muse spoke to me today, and this is what it said. I sincerely hope this makes you laugh. Also, sharing this article published in On Purpose Women magazine. It is a part of my Being and Becoming story from the last six years.
An Arbor. I walked the meadow near my house on behalf of a playmate (client) last week, tuning into her Higher Self before the session started. On the edges, I found myself drawn to a natural arbor. The latticework of sheltering limbs and trees were high enough to let me walk into it. Immediately I felt the change—a shelter in which my guard could relax. It felt like my own space, unlike the wide meadow I had left.
Sometimes we need the wide open vistas to remind us of the vast possibilities that exist for us, the spaces we still grow into. But wow, how delicious did it feel to enter this shelter—large enough to stretch my whole body but confined enough to feel the stillness and peace of my own presence.
Notes from the Edges of our Sanctuary. Sanctuary was a theme this last week. The guidance is that it is time to reconsider our relationship to sanctuary and come into new relationship. Here are notes from the edges of sanctuary space:
You can change your relationship to this space in your life.
Know that Sanctuary is a normal, healthy part of everyday Humaning. The world will always need to be the world it is. What you need or want may not always match the world’s frequency. A Sanctuary is always needed.
Proactively acknowledge respite as valuable recharge. Acknowleding this can lessen the need for sanctuary as only healing space. It is enough to be with your precious Presence just as it is. Fill Up. Find your rhythm for returning to this well.
This is an invitation to create a Sanctuary. Relax in the fullness of yourself. As much as you want. It is an invitation to stay in your center and observe the health of your edges. Tend to your edges – the wrinkled, the dry, the weakened, but keep the Center supple and strong. You will have less need to feel disturbed at your Center. Choose when you want to walk the meadow, choose when to sit in sanctuary.
In the Midst of Regime Change. Well, its happening. I am living through regime change and will be able to tell about it. I know because I am reading a novel, which is an ode to Russian novels (in its own way). A Gentleman in Moscow is set just as the Bolsheveks seize power. It takes the role of amused observer to perfection:
“For pomp is a tenacious force. And a wily one too. How humbly it bows its head as the emperor is dragged down the steps and tossed in the street. But then, having quietly bided its time, while helping the newly appointed leader on with his jacket, it compliments his appearance and suggests the wearing of a medal or two.” — Amor Towles
This is the story of an aristocrat who has much “taken” from him—belongings, his suite, his title. Confined to living in a hotel, he is shown his new room the size of a closet. Bouncing on the thin mattress, listening to the frame squeak, he gleefully notes, “That’s the G note, I believe.” This is how we show up and Play with regime changes. He befriends a nine-year old girl who takes him by the hand and shows him all the doors to hidden rooms available in this hotel. Even in his confinement he finds space and possibilities. The book’s wisdom is colliding with my new reality.
May you be the door to unforseen uplifting spaces for me and I for you.
Big Love, Big Magic, Big Peace. Sunday I woke up and unexpectedly received a call at 7:15 a.m from Delhi. It was my old roommate, just before getting married. This little chat filled my heart up (read my poem below). An unexpected surprise; this feeling in my heart grew and grew the rest of the day through two more unexpected events. By the evening, I felt awash in Big Flow. Friendships, Places, Activities, my life felt Good. It felt like swimming in Big Love was leading to Big Magic and also to this Big Peace. It feels like a wide beautiful stillness from my core.
I am trying to remember—there will be alot of “dramatic” headlines and talking points made to drum up my fury. I am not planning to rise to the occassion. Walking my meadow, resting in sanctuary, I intend to keep waking up, being open to “good” surprises, continuing to speak and write where I need and let this wiser Center unfold the course. It feels like its going to be a bumpy ride so again, grateful to have YOU in this reality. Stay #heartwoke.
